Let us handle the platform, so you can lead the innovation.
Meet the Families

QS Solder Down Modules
The QS solder-down module family by Ka-Ro Electronics offers a compact, robust, and highly reliable platform for embedded computing. Designed for industrial and professional applications, QS modules combine high performance with long-term availability and a solder-down form factor that ensures maximum stability in harsh environments. Solder Down modules are less expensive than their SODIMM counterparts because they are easier to manage, test in production and allow for better economies at scale.
With a scalable, pin-compatible design, the QS family makes it easy to upgrade or adapt your products without redesigning your hardware, helping you accelerate development, reduce costs, and focus on what sets your product apart.

The TX SODIMM Modules
The TX SODIMM module family from Ka-Ro Electronics delivers powerful, reliable embedded computing in a compact, industry-standard form factor. Based on the SODIMM 200-pin connector, TX modules offer easy integration, fast prototyping, and simple upgrade paths—ideal for both development and production environments.
With plug-and-play flexibility, the TX family supports rapid proof-of-concept work and simplifies design changes, all while maintaining long-term availability. The standardized SODIMM format enables low-cost baseboard design, easy handling, and straightforward replacement, making it a smart choice for highly scalable, cost-effective solutions.
Take advantage of a stable and proven platform that helps you lower development risk, shorten your time to market, and focus on your core business.
Details
Scalability
Often, devices are required in different performance and price classes. This is where the TX standard comes into its own. With one single hardware design, embedded engineers can produce a range of pin- and software- compatible products. With one single development kit, all TX modules are supported, demonstrating CoM scalability.
Reduce to the Max
The philosophy behind the TX CoM familiy is to reduce a CoM down to the absolute minimum of components. In doing so, application designers and hardware engineers using the CoMs can achieve maximum flexibility. TX CoM modules solely feature the processor plus memory and power supply. Any additional functions and peripherals can be added to the base board.
Longevity
This focus of CoMs with minimum number of components is on the one hand key to the very competitive pricing and on the other hand it enables us to ensure long-term availability. While processor manufacturers mostly offer a long-term availability of 10 to 15 years, this must also apply to any other component integrated into the module, or these must be available through a second source and without any software alterations. The more components integrated into the module, as is the case with with many other manufacturers, this long-term availability with unaltered functionality is at risk, or simple cannot be guaranteed.
i.MX6 | i.MX6 UltraLite/ULL
The i.MX 6 series of applications processors, part of the EdgeVerse™ edge computing platform, offers a feature- and performance-scalable multicore platform that includes single-, dual-, and quad-core families based on the Cortex architecture— including Cortex-A9, combined Cortex-A9 + Cortex-M4, and Cortex-A7 based solutions.

It comes with large packages offer supporting lowest PCB cost structure and smallest board space. STM32MP1 series is drastically reducing development time thanks to OpenSTLinux Distribution as a Mainlined Open Source Linux Distribution and STM32Cube Tools specially upgraded to cope with Linux MPU development.
Embedded hardware design
Hardware developers, unlike software developers get only a few update cycles to deliver a fully functioning complex piece of electronics. By using computer on modules designed to industry standards, hardware and test engineers can get the design first time right.
Custom COM services
For over 25 years, Ka-Ro has been serving the highly complex market for component manufacturing in SMT, THT and mixed production processes. From prototypes to series production Ka-Ro’s qualified production team manufactures and delivers customer-specific products with the greatest amount of speed, flexibility and precision.
