The XJTAG Development System is an established test suite with a range of software and hardware products that enable you to debug, test and program electronic circuits quickly and easily. The system works with devices that conform to the IEEE 1149.1 and 1149.6 boundary scan standards.

XJTAG is designed, developed and supported by Cambridge graduates to enable developers and test engineers to unlock the potential of boundary scan. XJTAG can help you speed up the design and development process and improve your debug and testing throughout the whole product lifecycle.
XJDeveloper — Advanced graphical interface
XJDeveloper is a graphical application that allows you to quickly and easily set up and run tests on your circuit. With XJDeveloper you can reduce your time to market by reusing your test scripts all the way through the product design process and then in manufacturing.
XJDeveloper’s built-in connection test, combined with XJEase tests for non-JTAG devices, checks your boards for short-circuit and open-circuit faults. Using XJDeveloper you can easily create or customise tests. The DFT analysis allows you to see your boards’ test coverage while the built-in netlist explorer provides a simple interface for you to view the connectivity between devices.
XJDeveloper can also be used to program both JTAG devices (e.g. CPLDs, FPGAs) and non-JTAG devices (e.g. EEPROMs, Flash). |

The simple drag-and-drop interface allows you to set up your JTAG chain and categorise all of the non-JTAG devices in your circuit easily, while the built-in netlist explorer provides a simple interface for you to view the connectivity between devices. more...
Advanced Connection Test
The advanced connection test of XJDeveloper allows you to test a higher percentage of a circuit than most other JTAG solutions. It also provides you with more information about the location and precise nature of any faults that are found.
XJEase — Non-JTAG testing and programming
XJEase is the high-level test description language of XJTAG that provides you with all of the functionality, flexibility and control you require to create a JTAG solution.
XJEase has libraries to test and/or program many non-JTAG devices such as FLASH, RAM (all varieties), Ethernet, RTC, Video etc. Even if you have never used JTAG before, it is possible to create a fully functioning test system with no extra programming.
XJAnalyser — Graphical JTAG analysis and debugging
XJAnalyser is a real-time visual analysis and debugging tool for devices in your JTAG chain. By setting pin values and tracing signals you can quickly debug your boards, even under BGAs.
XJAnalyser is a powerful resource that can also be used for in-system programming, using SVF / STAPL / JAM files. more... |

XJRunner — Boards tested at the click of a mouse
XJRunner is the run-time environment for executing XJEase tests. It is particularly aimed at board manufacturers and/or in-field testing, with additional logging, serial numbering and user management capabilities. more... |
XJLink / XJLink2 — USB 2.0 to JTAG interface
XJLink and XJLink2 are small, portable, USB hardware devices that provide a high speed interface (480Mbps) to the JTAG chain on a circuit board.
The small, lightweight design means the XJLink or XJLink2 can easily be moved to the Unit Under Test (UUT). Advanced features, like their programmable JTAG signal pin position, switchable power supply and auto signal skew, make it easy to connect to a wide range of circuit boards. Simple to install and use due to the USB plug-and-play ability. |

XJDemo & Tutorials
The XJDemo board and interactive tutorials have been designed to guide you through the process of learning and developing your first test system with XJTAG.
|
Integration with test executives
The standard .NET and COM interfaces allow you to integrate XJTAG testing with test executives such as NI LabVIEW™, LabWindows™/CVI, or a bespoke application written in languages such as Visual Basic and C#.
LabVIEW and LabWindows are registered trademarks of National Instruments.
Chain Debugger
Chain Debugger is designed to help you troubleshoot a faulty JTAG chain. You can move JTAG signals, define the configurable pins in the XJLink header and save them. |
 |
High Speed Flash Programming
Programming large flash devices can be very slow using traditional JTAG techniques. XJTAG can use the on board processor or programmable logic device to dramatically speed up flash programming.
 |
XJIO & XJIO-PCI Boards
The XJIO boards are expansion units that enable you to improve the test coverage for a Unit Under Test (UUT) by verifying the signals right through to the external connections. They will integrate with your XJTAG test system to provide access to otherwise inaccessible areas of your circuit.
With a range of digital and analogue I/O on the XJIO boards, you can increase test coverage and improve fault diagnosis.
There are two variants of XJIO boards:
-
XJIO board: The XJIO board has 208 bidirectional digital I/O pins: image
-
XJIO-PCI: The XJIO-PCI board has 96 bidirectional digital I/O pins and a PCI connector (with further 64 digital I/O pins): image

PXI modules
The PXI modules allow you to run XJTAG from a PXI rack alongside the rest of your test equipment. PXI-01 and PXI-02, with one and two JTAG ports respectively, provide a PXI interface to the JTAG chain on your Unit Under Test (UUT). |

Support & Maintenance
Customers in maintenance contracts have access to email and telephone support, release updates, a website login area, as well as promotional campaigns (Free XJRunner, new product discounts...)
XJAPI — Low-level JTAG Access
The XJAPI is a simple-to-use DLL Application Program Interface (API), designed to give you low-level access to the JTAG chain via either the XJLink or the PXI hardware, allowing easy integration with a wide range of other systems such as development/evaluation boards, test systems...
The USB to JTAG hardware and software interface is composed of a high-speed USB to JTAG hardware module (XJLink/XJLink2) and the XJAPI, allowing you to access and control the JTAG chain directly.
The PXI to JTAG hardware and software interface is composed of a high speed PXI to JTAG hardware module (PXI-01) and the XJAPI. .
