Common Server Platform Ingredients across Intel® Itanium® and Xeon® Processor Families Drives UEFI Firmware Efficiencies and Time-to-Market

InsydeH2O™ Quickly Becoming the UEFI Firmware-of-Choice for Leading Server Makers

Insyde® Software, a leading provider of Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) firmware, announced that its flagship product InsydeH2O™ supports, and is shipping on its customers' latest and most advanced Intel-based server platforms.

This support includes the following recently announced processors and platforms from Intel:

• Intel® Itanium® processor 9300 series - Intel's mission-critical server processor that more than doubles the performance of the previous Itanium processor while boosting scalability and reliability.
• Intel® Xeon® processor 5600 series - Intel's first 32nm process technology-based enterprise-class processors, delivering up to 60% greater performance than the previous generation processor.
• Intel® Xeon® processor 7500 series - Intel's fastest enterprise and high-performance computing chip provides an average of three times increase in processing speed.

Insyde Software was first-to-market with UEFI-based BIOS in support of the Intel Itanium server platform in 2005.
