MindShare Courses at Logic Technology1) Intel AtomTM Processor Architecture course, 2) USB 3.0 Architecture course, and 3) Cost-Effective Bluetooth Wireless Product Development course.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, March 9, 2009 – MindShare, Inc. announces that it has developed the following classroom / virtual classroom courses: 1) Intel® Atom™ Processor Architecture course, 2) USB 3.0 Architecture course, and 3) Cost-Effective Bluetooth Wireless Product Development course.

The Intel Atom™ processor (codenamed Silverthorne and Diamondville) is Intel's newest embedded low-power processor, targeting the embedded and ultra-mobile PC markets where low power is of utmost importance. Atom implements the IA-32 instruction set, which has a long and rich legacy. The Intel 8088 processor was used in the original IBM PC in the 1980s. As time has progressed, Intel has added new hardware and software features to each new generation. The 80386 processor is normally regarded as the baseline for the IA32 instruction set. However, as software compatibility with the original IBM PC and the 8088 is necessary, our course also covers the key aspects of the original IBM PC architecture (such as memory map). The course examines the platform evolution to assist in understanding the reasons for the architecture. The Front Side Bus (FSB) interfaces to the remainder of the system board components via the chipset and is described in detail.

The third generation of USB (USB 3.0) increases transfer rates to 4.8Gbits/s (SuperSpeed), a 10 fold increase in performance over the high-speed performance of USB 2.0 (480Mbits/s). USB 3.0 is also backward compatible at both the device and system level -- USB 3.0 devices work in 2.0 platforms and USB 2.0 devices work in USB 3.0 platforms. USB 2.0 is implemented as a subset of the USB 3.0 environment, however this course focuses only on the SuperSpeed portion of the specification. USB 3.0 also replaces the broadcast bus with a unicast solution that directs packets to only the target device, thereby making it possible to conserve power on the cable segments currently not being used. In addition, USB 3.0 devices use asynchronous notifications that eliminate the need for device polling. Improved protocol and power management are also among the new features of the USB 3.0 solution that are detailed in our course.

Bluetooth wireless technology has shipped in over 1.5 Billion products worldwide yet is one of the most complex wireless standards to ever be developed. Those who develop the technology know just how complex it is. That’s why if you are actively developing or plan to develop Bluetooth wireless technology products, you can’t miss this course! MindShare’s Cost‐Effective Bluetooth Product Development class is designed for newcomer to Bluetooth wireless technology. It gives you a board understanding of the technology so that you can reduce costs and time‐to‐market for your Bluetooth product development. The money that you could save with the information from the class will easily pay for the class itself!

These 3 new MindShare courses are available in Europe as in-hous classes via Logic Technology. For the open enrolement course schedule, please visit the website.
