ARM announces support for Silicon Labs ARM Cortex-M3 devices in the MDK-ARM Development Kit

2/28/2012 -

KEIL Tools by ARMARM today announced that the KeilMDK-ARM development kit will support the ARM® Cortex-M3 based Silicon Labs Precision32 family from launch.

The Precision32 family has been announced at Embedded World 2012 in Nuremberg, Germany, targeting low power industrial and medical applications that can benefit from high-quality analogue peripherals. It is the natural upgrade path for existing customers of Silicon Labs' proven 8-bit microcontrollers.

Keil has a long history of supporting the Silicon Labs 8051-based mixed signal MCUs. The Keil PK51 Development System has been the tool of choice for many customers and is considered the de-facto standard for this architecture. With the MDK-ARM development kit, programmers can continue to work in the familiar µVision™ IDE as they start developing for the ARM Cortex-M family of processors using the Precision32 family.

The combination of the µVision IDE, the state of the art ARM C/C++ Compiler, advanced debug and trace features, RTX RTOS and the highly optimized Middleware libraries in the MDK-Professional development kit enables high productivity and a shorter time to market.

Support for the Precision32 family is included in the new release of the ARM KEIL MDK-ARM development kit.
