The LX 600@0.7W* processor offers a low-power solution for x86 applications and is now compatible with DDR2 memory. AMD has developed patent pending technology that allows the entire AMD Geode LX family to use DDR2 memory modules in an existing design. The ability of AMD Geode™ LX processor-based solutions to work with DDR2 in current designs helps designers to not only save costs by using current mainstream memory technology, but can enable a significant amount of system power savings. This memory solution is designed solely for AMD Geode™ LX based platforms and takes advantage of lower DDR2 memory costs.

The AMD Geode™ LX 600@0.7W* processor is ideal for a wide variety of extreme low-power and value oriented x86 solutions, including consumer electronics and computing markets, multimedia devices, single-board computers, and other general embedded applications.

XpressROM BIOS validated on AMD Geode LX600 with DDR2
Insyde Software, provider of firmware and BIOS for x86 processors, has released support for AMD’s Geode LX600 processor in their XpressROM firmware solution.
Co-developed with Insyde Software, XpressROM is verified and shipped on AMD and AMD partner Geode reference designs. XpressROM development begins with the early support of new silicon and ends with a successful implementation on a customer's Geode powered platform.  XpressROM was built from the ground up for platforms based on the AMD Geode family of integrated processors, single chip IA devices, and companion chips.
